good evening!
last week something sad happened - one of the oldest residents of the community passed away. i visited him last year, by then i was told that he is at least 320 years old, but probably older! now he passed away - may he rest in peace!
i asked for permission to take some pictures - so get some impressions.
digging the grave into the rocky ground is hard work. the dead body comes into a cave and is covered with wood first
as you can see it was a muslim funeral
rest in peace
women pray seperated and behind the men - like in the mosque
after the...
...prayer the corpse was burried...
...and the coffin will be used for the next person
preparing food for the guests
may he rest in perfect peace
social worker suzie distributes the stationaries
new school shoes!
maize

millet
sweet potatoe
yams
this is yams, a typical african food. it tastes like potatoe
inside the compound where i live
we are still in the rainy season. sometimes its amazing - but can not really be reflected in fotos...as you can imagine!
mr. joe - the bar owner next to my house!
mr. joes bar - with snow!
me and the headmaster of the school
unity and love!
