funeral, farm and beach

good evening!

last week something sad happened - one of the oldest residents of the community passed away. i visited him last year, by then i was told that he is at least 320 years old, but probably older! now he passed away - may he rest in peace!
i asked for permission to take some pictures - so get some impressions.
digging the grave into the rocky ground is hard work. the dead body comes into a cave and is covered with wood first

as you can see it was a muslim funeral
see some pictures of the last prayer

rest in peace

women pray seperated and behind the men - like in the mosque

after the...

...prayer the corpse was burried...

...and the coffin will be used for the next person

preparing food for the guests

may he rest in perfect peace
the school has reopened - we provided the children who formally lived in the orphange with school books and pens, school shoes and uniforms

the NGO has also a farm, and the farmer is peter. last week he showed me his personal farm - a pretty amazing place!

we are still in the rainy season. sometimes its amazing - but can not really be reflected in fotos...as you can imagine!

he is taxidriver, she brought the car to accra! nice one!! good luck!
i was in accra to renew my work permit and my resident permit...and right now i am at the beach, in keta. it is in the volta region, about 3 hours in the east of accra. its a really nice place. i am at "emancipation beach" - a good pick if you come to keta. just before the fishermen returned and we bought some fresh fish - any minute from now i will enjoy it! they have lovely food here! a good place to be...!

..see for yourself!

have a nice evening - i have to eat now!
