...so i hope to be able to upload the rest of the pictures now!!
in mumbai i went to a tour in the biggest slum of the city. the government estimates 1 million people living there, locals say its 2 to 3 million...anyway, its many people! everywhere in mumbai (and the rest of india) you see people collecting all the waste from the streets like plastic bottles, cans etc. these things are brought to dharavi, this slum, to be recyclet. people work for an average wage of 100 to 120 rupees, which is maximum 2 euros - for 10 hours of hard work. but it was the first place in india where people were not begging, they seemed really interested in us, and it was good to see that they had a job and were happy about it (even though i guess the beggars in the touristic areas make much more money). our guide said as well that the children would not take any food if we would give it to them - even if he would give them sweets they would refuse it. "they were raised like this..." so these people were really different to "the rest" i have seen so far!
since we were not allowed to take pictures...just a few!

papadad, very thin bread you get with many dishes |
they told us they can sell 1 kg for about 40 rupees, about 70 cents...and i dont know how many papadads you need for 1 kg!

streets in dharavi |
pottery |
and the oven of the pottery |
they burn the left overs from the clothing production for the oven to burn the pots

i left mumbai by train, 12 hours to the south and ended up in arambol beach, north goa, where i met flo again! we plan to celebrate christmas here somewhere on the beaches...which are extremely beautiful by the way!!

you can identify the people who just arrived to the beaches easily, because they will make exactly these pictures with the cows!!
view down arambol beach from the north end |
sweet water lake |
some beach huts - not ours though |
ja, die habens wenigstens richtig gschrieben, mit doppel N!! |
and as you can see on that sign many things are also written in russian - in north goa there are many tourists from russia. a strange habit to go exactly there where all other people from your country are as well...in this case i should not be here, but wait until summer and go to grado and lignano!!
a soccer pitch |
schoolchildren playing in their break |
one day in the morning we read in the newspaper that the same evening a indian first league match between dempo sports club and a team from calcutta will take place. so we went to the street, took the first bus...the second, 3rd and 4th and arrived at this stadium!!
dempo sports club |
ticket counter "go to the hole..." |
"security check" at the stadium!! |
it was fun to see - once! the level was really bad, hardly anybody was in the stadium...and "we" lost 0:1 and it was probably the cheapest ticket ever...20 rupees, about 33 cents!!
